Description – Alakal is a survival thriller regional shortfilm. The movie revolves around an incident happening on a lost boat in the sea.
Role – Associate Director, Active involvement is script discussions, Co-ordination in the sets.
Experience - Alakal was one of the most physically challenging experiences for me because most of it was shot on a boat in the midst of a sea in broad daylight. Managing a whole crew on a boat and coordinatimg certain shots was a different experience. Communicating with the actors as to how a scene should be delivered and the limited time on boat was rather a challenging experience that has taught me a lot. We also prefered and worked with natural light as it blends subtly with the environment and provides a naturality element to the scene. As the crew and the actors had no previous experience filming on a boat amidst the sea under unfamiliar climatic conditions, lots of effort had to be taken to bring out a cinematic balance.
